Dermal fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid which is a substance that naturally exists in your body. They work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid which in turn revitalises and adds volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They can also be used to enhance the facial structure and shape. Bone and fat is reabsorbed in our face as we age, therefore restoring this volume can rejuvenate your features whilst still looking proportionate and natural. Fillers are not permanent and usually last between 6 and 18 months depending on the area injected.
What areas can be treated?
The areas that we treat include lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, fine lines and scars. Treatment plans are bespoke after a considered facial assessment. Small volumes of filler often make a dramatic impact if they are placed thoughtfully.
What results should I expect?
Initially there will be some swelling in the areas that have received dermal filler. Once this has subsided, for the:
- Lip Filler: you should notice fuller, defined and more symmetrically balanced lips.
- Cheek Augmentation: Defined and enhanced symmetrical cheeks.
- Nasolabial folds & Marionette lines: any deep etched lines should disappear giving a rejuvenated and youthful appearance. It visually declutters the face so the eye can be drawn to your lips and eyes rather than lines and groves.
Given that the treatment plans are personalised, expected results will be discussed in more detail during your consultation.
Are there any side effects?
Swelling and bruising in the first 48hrs after treatment is common. This will subside after that time.
